# Student Evaluations of Teaching

At the end of the semester, I ask my students to complete an anonymous online form to evaluate my teaching.

12 out of 14 students from Advanced Statistical Modeling completed the evaluation. Evaluation questions regarding my teaching and the class and the medians of their responses are reported below.

- “Rate my overall teaching.” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “excellent”).
- “Am I approachable?” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “approachable”).
- “Am I clear during class?” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “clear”).
- “Would you recommend me to your friends?” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “yes”).
- “Compared to other upper-level Macalester courses, how much did you learn in this course?” Median is 4 (out of 5, where 5 is “a lot”).
- “How do you rate our class overall?” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “excellent”).
- “Would you recommend Advanced Stat Modeling to others from your major?” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “yes”).

Note: I have omitted from this list responses to questions such as “How difficult did you find Poisson regression?” and “What topics would you have liked to spend more time discussing?”

31 out of 34 students from Introduction to Statistical Modeling completed the evaluation during the spring semester of 2016. Evaluation questions and the medians of their responses are reported below.

- “Suppose your friend or classmate is planning to take Intro to Stat Modeling. Would you recommend they take the class from me?” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “yes”).
- “Am I approachable?” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “approachable”).
- “Am I clear during class?” Median is 5 (out of 5, where 5 is “clear”).
